Collaborated with Jacob Zane and Valerie Zhao for Pedro Lopes' Inventing, Engineering and Understanding Interactive Devices at the University of Chicago.
In this project, we design a wearable device that allows users to fly a helicopter using motion controls. We use an arduino, an accelerometer, and IR LEDs to send input to the helicopter. In addition, we mount this onto a 3D-Printed Gauntlet printed by Jacob Zane.
We imagine a new way to interact with play objects. In the future, I would be interested in making controllers like this for digital games, especially VR.
